Personal Projects
My most powerful personal projects. These are intended to showcase my skillset and ability to develop full-fledged applications while working with various technologies.
Dreampack
A web-based dream journal. Record your dreams, track dream signs,
interpret your dreams with ChatGPT, transcribe audio into text
entries with Whisper, and generate images for your dreams with
DALLE-2.

CLI Chess
Chess, written entirely in the Ruby programming language and
playable in the command line. Utilizing OOP principles to keep my
code clean and modular, I built a program with all the rules of a
real game of Chess: an 8x8 board, pieces with restricted movements,
pawn promotion, en passant, castling, check and checkmate. Players
can save their games and play locally against another human or a
CPU.

About Me
Hey, I'm Jarrod. In 2022, I got the itch to learn a new skill. After
a bit of searching I discovered
The Odin ProjectOpens in new window
and started building toy apps in JavaScript/Ruby and pushing them to
Github. I found it exciting to learn new things every day and build
increasingly complex apps. I love getting into the flow state while
solving new problems and seeing my projects grow from a single line
of code to a complete app. Now, I'm hoping to continue learning at a
company.
In 2020, I spent a year in the

building trails, planting trees and participating in the salmon
restoration project.
